The Gwagwalada Branch of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) on February 11, 2022, celebrated her thanksgiving and welcome party for the newly employed staff during a ceremony that took place at the branch’s office, like those held in other states, the apogee of the event was the induction exercise for the new staff of the Fund. The week-long programme started on February 7, 2022, and concluded on February 11, 2022.
The programme was attended by the Branch’s Manager, Mrs Erivwode Mercy Ovosa, as well as heads of units of the branch, who also took turns to talk about the activities and modus operandi of the various departments of the Fund. There was also a talk about the culture and orientation of the Fund as well as her history, vision, mission, structure, organogram, reporting lines and crucial aspects of the staff conditions of service.
Mrs Ovosa spoke on the mandate of the Fund, and the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) as the fulcrum of the operations of the Fund. She stressed that each department is interdependent on another hence it was important that staff work in harmony with one another in order to contribute to the success of the entire organisation.
She therefore charged the staff to imbibe the spirit of teamwork, cooperation, respect for one another, and respect for their senior colleagues and constituted authorities for the purpose of creating a harmonious and rancor-free working environment. While stressing the importance of unity of purpose, Mrs Ovosa summed her speech with an aphorism that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.
